Sima Qian (c. 145–86 BCE) endures among the great of East Asia. Grand historian whose Records founded Chinese historiography. Across the classical age, this life and its works passed into the shared inheritance of humankind — kept here so the memory is never lost. Honored among the Great Ones of every civilization. Africa is the cradle of humankind; in the deepest sense, these are everyone’s ancestors — and so this name is kept, from the cradle of humanity to all its children.
