Al-Biruni (973-1048) endures among the great of Middle East/Persia. Persian polymath who contributed to astronomy, mathematics, and comparative study of cultures. Across the medieval age, this life and its works passed into the shared inheritance of humankind — kept here so the memory is never lost. Honored among the Great Ones of every civilization. Africa is the cradle of humankind; in the deepest sense, these are everyone’s ancestors — and so this name is kept, from the cradle of humanity to all its children.
